2023! We are nearly halfway through what marks year 11 of our business. Very thankful to celebrate another year of being in business. We have successfully completed another year at the National Home Show and had so much fun meeting everyone—around 85 000 of you—and we look forward to meeting everyone next year!
Highlights: Tesla / EV Charger Cover
At the National Home Show, we met a customer who, upon seeing our awnings, knew that this was exactly what he needed for his Tesla charger. Though Tesla chargers are waterproof, living in Canada, he wanted to keep the snow and frozen rain off his charger. And our awnings, being made out of durable, weatherproof polycarbonate panels and brackets, were the perfect fit.
New Challenges
Earlier this year, we received a request for two awnings that threw us for a loop, as the customer wanted an awning over his front door and one above his second-floor balcony (about 16feet from the ground). Over the years, water had started to leak into the customer’s home due to the weather and the home’s age. They replaced their doors, but wanted awnings installed above their doors to guarantee that this would not happen again. We wanted to provide our services, but being a three-person family business, we had never installed an awning so high up before. However, we decided to take the challenge head-on and started brainstorming. Overcoming our fear of heights, we rented a scaffold and, after a couple practices, packed it into the trailer and headed out to install, and the awnings turned out great. All in all, it was a new challenge for us, and we are excited to try more new things going forward.
